Phlebotomy technician training in Arizona at Brookline College is designed to prepare you to obtain blood specimens from patients for the purpose of testing and analyzing. For detailed program information, click here. The phlebotomist works in a drawing station, clinics or medical laboratory, or under the direction of the laboratory supervisor. The job requires manual dexterity and additional skills in communication and clerical duties. Phlebotomy classes are offered at different times and on different days each semester at both the White Mountain Campus in Show Low and the Little Colorado Campus in Winslow. The four-credit hour course, HES 109 Phlebotomy, has two hours per week devoted to lecture and four hours of lab class. You will learn both the theory and practice of phlebotomy with in-class training and practice in specimen collection as well as a practicum (externship) conducted at local labs. An NPC certificate of completion indicating the number of successful phlebotomy procedures completed by each student is offered at the conclusion of the course.
