The curriculum is comprised of 2 lecture courses and one phlebotomy practicum. The lecture courses MLTS 104 and MLTS 105 are taught during the first half of the semester. During the second half of the semester the student attends a three week phlebotomy clinical practicum. During the practicum students are expected to work 8 hours a day. There is no weekend or holiday work. Practicum rotations are held at the program’s clinical affiliate hospitals.

This program is approximately 5 weeks and includes a comprehensive curriculum that will prepare the novice Phlebotomy student for the ethical, theoretical and technical knowledge required to become a competent Phlebotomist. Students will complete lectures and hands-on training in the clinical laboratory setting using Phlebotomy simulation models and specialized training equipment. Satisfactory completion of both the classroom and laboratory portions of the course is required. Upon satisfactory completion of the course, the student will be eligible to take a National Board Certification Exam through the American Certification Agency for Healthcare Professionals.
